e-Learning Center

Although some of our e-Learning and tutorials have a quiz included within them, NO data is collected or recorded from your responses to these tests. These incorporated quizzes are strictly an interactive feature for your own feedback.

Test and Quiz Center

The data to each test and quiz is anonymously captured and stored in a database. We are NOT interested in any individual's test scores but in the aggregate results. This data will be used to:

• Validate the effectiveness of each test – if people are failing the quiz, perhaps the items are not clear and the test needs to be revised.
• Identify learning needs – if there are topics in which tests scores are poor, this data may be used for developing online courses, brokering seminars and workshops, or letting post-secondary programs know that additional training may be required.

The Learning Nurse is an independent, safe and secure place for your professional development / continuing education program. No one will have access to your professional development records or test results. You decide whether you want to share this data with your employer, nursing association and anyone else!

Consulting services

Learning and training needs assessments. We have the expertise, experience and tools to conduct comprehensive needs assessments of learning and training requirements.

Competency profiles. We have developed detailed competency profiles for over 15 health care professions including nurses. We have the processes and systems in place to identify and document the competencies required by practitioners. We also have a huge database of competencies required by different health care professionals that we can draw upon.

Continuing competence tools and software. We have developed self-assessment forms, software, learning plans, records and evaluation tools to help health care professions monitor and manage their continuing education activities. We can deliver a range of services and products.

Development of tests / quizzes and supporting software. We have experience with various software tools to develop, deliver and manage online tests and quizzes. We can set up and host test and quiz centers so that you don't have to ever worry about the technical aspects of the systems.

Development of e-Learning courses and supporting components. We have the industry-leading e-Learning development tools (Articulate StoryLine, Adobe Captivate, iSpring Suite, Camtasia) and supporting audio and video tools to produce online learning courses and tutorials. We can set up and host these as well.

Micro-learning and apps. These are becoming more common in education and training. We can help design and produce these compact learning units that can be made available for just-in-time learning.

Learning activity and program evaluations. As with needs assessment, we have the experience and tools to conduct formative and summative evaluations at different levels and stages.

Statistical analyses and reporting. With our strong research background, we can extract and analyze your training data and prepare reports for your stakeholders. Products

Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). If you are looking for an affordable, but comprehensive LMS, we offer services related to the open-source Moodle software. We are currently hosting and operating two Moodle websites for our clients. In addition to managing these websites, we have developed and produced numerous multimedia and interactive learning activities for the Moodle learning modules. For more details, please contact us.

Tests and Quizzes. All of our tests and quizzes that we have developed are available for licensing. We can host and manage them on our server (shared or dedicated website), or you can install them on your own systems.

e-Learning courses.  All of the courses and tutorials that we have developed and produced are available for licensing. Again, we can host and manage them on your behalf, or you can install them on your own systems.
